SSLAG ParentS Watch Network
The SSLAG Parents Watch Network was established by the Safe School Alliance to support parents’ efforts at raising the next generation that are safe, confident and well grounded in positive values. Accidents to children are daily occurrence but most can be prevented through the reduction or elimination of risks. As such parents must have a basic awareness of safety so as to understand what the risks in the environment might be and take sensible measures to tackle them. Schools must work in partnership with parents and guardians to safeguard the children in their care. SSLAG PWN puts pare4nts in the driving seat of decisions regarding the safety of their children in school.
Periodic Safe Parents Hangouts
SSLAG KEEPS PARENTS INFORMED THROUGH A FORUM TERMED PARENTS HANGOUT
FOR EXAMPLE, WHAT PARENTS SHOULD EXPECT FROM THE SCHOOL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: That
- THEIR child will have fun and make new friends.
- THE SCHOOL will provide the child with a stimulating learning environment, including areas for relaxation and extra-curricular activities.
- Staff will be friendly, caring and helpful.
- They will be contacted in an emergency.
- The children will be kept safe & secure.
- To be supported if there are any problems with their child’s behaviour.
- A varied curriculum that takes into account the local culture and needs of the children.
Safe Schools Lagos Parents Network Registration Form
The Safe Schools Lagos (SSLAG) Parents Network is an initiative designed to ensure that parents across Lagos State have a voice in decisions affecting their children’s safety and education. By joining the SPN, parents can actively participate in discussions, receive updates on safety protocols, and collaborate with other stakeholders to promote a secure learning environment.
